Broken Spanish LA

Broken Spanish, Downtown LA, is now open!

I'm a solid 2+ hours away and it's still tempting to hop in the car and get dinner and a margarita right now. The menu just looks that good. I was commissioned to create a group of 26 hanging pendant lamps for the space, and am so pleased with how they look in this beautiful space.

The new Downtown LA hotspot brought to us by Jacob Shure, Bill Chait, and chef super talent, Ray Garcia. The inspired interior was dreamed up by the amazing LA design team Bells + Whistles. I was truly over the moon to work with such a talented group of people, it was the dream job. Thanks to the Broken Spanish and Bells and Whistles teams for looping me in.

One reviewer lovingly referred to the space as "abuela chic", and I can see why. You just want to curl up here and have what you KNOW will be a cozy time full of amazing food and drink.

Each pendant was thrown on the wheel, no two being the same. The clay bodies varied in tone, size, shape, and texture, but carried a thread of commonality between them to bring the group together.

Here are some images of the space:
